Are Gun Sales Permitted-The 2014 Harrisburg Sports Show?

NRAI have been getting a crazy amount of emails and facebook messages about whether or not gun sales are allowed at the 2014 Harrisburg Sports Show after we organized the ESOS Boycott in January 2013.  The short answer is, yes!  But the complicated answer is below as quoted by Jeremy Greene from NRA Headquarters.

Firearms can be purchased by attendees at the Great American Outdoor Show. The policy of the show is that attendees can pick up the firearm at their local gun shop or have it shipped to an FFL near their home.  It’s the National Rifle Association’s goal to expand the show, making it a national destination and this policy works well with local attendees and those traveling from across the country.

It’s the National Rifle Association’s goal to expand the show, making it a national destination and this policy works well

“People are asking why we would attend the 2014 Show since we Boycotted the 2013 Show for doing the same thing…  which is not the case at all.  The 2013 was Boycotted because the show promoter banned ‘certain types of weapons’ from the show, and all of their accessories, components and even pictures of them.  The NRA has taken this stance with other shows of theirs around the country and went into this show with the same standards used elsewhere.” – Jeremy Green (NRA)

Asking for a Boycott for this show because of their policy on this matter or comparing the standards set forth by the NRA with the move that REED made is totally unacceptable.  If you can step back away from the whole ‘Boycott’ mentality and look at the show as a new breath of life to an old show, you will really see how this is helping to improve the show for the future.

MyNEOD.com and TheVirtualSportsShow.com will have a booth at the new show (#2636) and we hope that you will stop by and say hello, we look forward to meeting everyone who supported the ESOS Boycott and made a stand with us in helping to save our firearms tradition in PA and abroad.
